Bear Wise Education:
Black bears are active on the Bruce Peninsula from early spring until late fall. Normally avoiding humans, they prefer forested areas to find food, refuge and den sites. However, Black bear sightings do occur and it's important that we take steps to understand how to reduce the chance of a bear encounters and what to do should we encounter a bear. ​
